Whispr ("we", "our", or "the app") is a voice journaling application. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Voice Recordings: Audio recordings are stored locally on your device only. They are never uploaded to our servers.
Transcriptions: Your voice is transcribed to text using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Transcriptions are stored locally in the app's database.
AI Analysis: When you use the AI analysis feature, your transcription text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for mood detection and summarization. Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy. We do not store your data on any server of our own.
Subscription Data: Purchase and subscription information is managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store payment information.
Preferences: App settings (theme, notification preferences, etc.) are stored locally on your device using standard iOS mechanisms.
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. The only external service that receives your data is Anthropic's Claude API, and only the transcription text of entries you choose to analyze.
All journal entries, recordings, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Data is protected by your device's built-in encryption and passcode.
Your data exists only on your device. You can delete individual entries or all entries at any time from the Settings screen. Deleting the app removes all data permanently.
Whispr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can export, delete, or modify your data directly within the app.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
